Που το ξέρουμε ότι είναι υγρασία?
Επίσης στη φωτό που γράφει "Alex" κάτω δεξιά ο σκύλος είναι σε κλειστό χώρο, σε στίβο. Εκεί, αν μη τι άλλο οι επαγγελματίες εκτροφείς/χειριστές όλη μέρα πιλατεύουν τους σκύλους για να είναι καθαροί-χτενισμένοι-γυαλισμένοι.
Το κοκκινοκαφετί αυτό πάντως είναι χαρακτηριστικό χρώμα σε δερματικά. Το χει κι η Κάρλα, το χω δει σε bt, σε ντόγκο, σε ένα ταλαίπωρο γκριφονοκανισοειδές που κυκλοφορεί εδώ στη γειτονιά και υποφέρει από κνησμούς.

Και η άλλη απορία μου: Αν θυμάμαι καλά, όταν κατέβαζα την Κάρλα στα νιάτα της σε μορφολογικές, σε κάποια κρίση έγραφε κάτι σαν "skin in excellent condition" ή κάτι τέτοιο. Όπερ σημαίνει ότι κρίνουν το τρίχωμα - ή όχι?

Εάν όντως πρόκειται για δερματικά, το θεωρώ άκυρο να θεωρείται πρότυπο αναπαραγωγής ένας τέτοιος σκύλος. Kαταρχήν καταρρίπτει τα επιχειρήματα υπέρ της αγοράς από εκτροφέα (εξετάσεις υγείας, επιλεκτική εκτροφή με στόχ την εξάλειψη προβλημάτων κλπ.). Μου θυμίζει, πριν λίγα χρόνια ένα γαλλικό που πήρε BOB και κόντεψε να πάθει collapse στο στίβο.

οι σκυλοι που διαγωνιζονται ειναι μελη των εθνικων τους ομαδων. η ελλαδα οπως καταλαβαινεις....

απο εκεινες τις στιγμες που ειναι καλυτερα να μασας παρα να μιλας..., τελικα υπηρξε ελληνικη συμμετοχη το σαββατο 18/ 11.

η Λαμπρινή Μανιάτη του εκτροφειου Immortal Spirits ηταν εκει για να αντιπροσωπευσει τη χωρα μας με (αν δεν κανω λαθος παλι), τη σκυλιτσα Immortal Spirits Earthborn.

Η οποία σκυλίτσα "Immortal Spirits Earthborn" που συμμετείχε πήρε τον χαρακτηρισμό "Εξαίρετη" και την 22η θέση στα 48 συνολικά σκυλιά στην κατηγορία "Νέων θηλυκών".

νορμανδια 1944, bulls στην υπηρεσια του αμερικανικου στρατου. τα χρησιμοποιουσαν για να εντοπιζουν ελευθερους σκοπευτες.

ενα αρθρο των new york times απο το 1908 που με αφορμη τη διαμαχη των πλαστογραφων της φυσης ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nature_fakers_controversy ) μιλαει και για την ιστορια των bull and terrier φυλων.

σαν σημερα πριν 46 χρονια ημερα Σαββατο, στο σιδηροδρομικο σταθμο Olympia στο Kensington του Λονδινου, στη δευτερη μερα των Cruft' s (οπως ηταν τοτε γνωστα), παιρνει μερος με χειριστη την εκτροφεα του στην κατηγορια Ανοικτη Αρσενικων, ο πρωταθλητης σκυλος Abraxas Audacity, εκτροφης της Violet Drummond- Dick του εκτροφειου Abraxas.



κριτης για την ομαδα 3 των τεριε τη μερα εκεινη, ηταν ο Ουαλος George W. R. Couzens, λατρης των τεριε και εκτροφεας bull terrier ο ιδιος με την επωνυμια Krackton.

o Kim, οπως ηταν το καθημερινο ονομα του Audacity, γεννηθηκε στις 11/ 09/ 69 απο δυο πολυ σπουδαιους σκυλους, τον Romany River Pirate (Romany River Sailor x Romany River Witch)



και την Abraxas Athenia (Monkery' s Mr. Frosty of Ormandy x Abraxas Souperlative Viola).



προεδρευων της επιτροπης τη χρονια εκεινη ηταν ο συνταγματαρχης Sir Richard Hamilton Glyn γνωστος στους λατρεις της φυλης και απο το βιβλιο του "Bull Terriers and How to Breed Them". στην επιτροπη επισης, βρισκουμε και τον γνωστο εκτροφεα των bulls Raymond H. Oppenheimer.

ο Kim εμελλε να γραψει τη λαμπροτερη σελιδα στην ιστορια της φυλης αφου κατεκτησε τη διοργανωση μια μερα μετα.



συνολικα κατεκτησε το Ormandy Jug, το Regent Trophy, 10 Champion Certificates, 10 φορες ηταν καλυτερος φυλης και 2 φορες ηταν καλυτερος της ομαδας του.

…Με ιδιαίτερα γλαφυρό τρόπο αφηγήθηκε αυτή την ιστορική στιγμή για την φυλή, στην στήλη που διατηρούσε στην εφημερίδα Dog World, ο Oppenheimer.

I have to dip my pen in “thunder and eclipse”, Ch Abraxas Audacity was best in show at Cruft’s. For those who think this is a slip of the pen I repeat best in SHOW! What for me and I think for most of the other Bull Terrier fans made the day complete was the two judges under whom he did it. Both are men of utter integrity … of indisputable knowledge… If there is a man who knows more about terriers than Mr Joe Cartledge I trust someone will introduce me to him … while Mr Arthur Weslake, as well as being an international judge too, has been a skillful and knowledgeable breeder of dogs himself for years. In only one respect do I think that Audacity was lucky and that is he arrived at the show early morning distinctly overweight but due to the efficient heating at Olympia and to the very mild weather the conditions in the National Hall Gallery, were the breed was judged, was more reminiscent of a Turkish bath than of a dog show so that by the time he went into the big ring he sweated off a good five pounds, looked a picture, showed like a bird and was beautifully handled by his owner, Miss Drummond-Dick. The drama and excitement throughout the whole affair was almost unendurable. Finally he and a charming Miss Whippet were pulled out before the eyes of the massed thousands and this was very much to Kim’s taste, so much so that I thought we might be going to see the start of a new breed Bullets or Whipperries. I think I would have liked to own one!

Ο Kim όμως έδωσε μόνο έναν British Champion.

Ο Arthur Miller στην κριτική του το 1971 αναφέρει για τον Kim:

When I first entered the ring to judge the Recent Trophy I became more than ever certain that, in the dog game, there is no finer spectacle than a really good Bull Terrier, well presented, well handled and showing at full throttle, and that Bull Terrier was Ch. Abraxas Audacity, with a lovely clean well filled head, good well placed eye, ears small and on top, reachy arched neck, well laid shoulders, beautiful front and feet, short back, good topline, well developed quarters, moved really well and is completely balanced. Had I been skillful and lucky enough to breed him I would probably wish he were a 10lb bigger dog but would keep that to myself.

Girl with a White Dog (1950-51)

Artwork description & Analysis: Typical of Freud's early period, Girl with a White Dog was created using a sable brush, which he used to apply the paint with linear precision, almost like a drawing. The subtle shading evokes a host of textures exuding softness, warmth, and the absence of immediate tension. The robe has slipped off the sitter's shoulder, exposing her right breast. Coupled with the absent stare of the woman and the dog, the muted colors and faint contours give this composition an overall flatness.

The sitter is Kitty Garman, Freud's first wife, and a noted beauty whose father was artist Jacob Epstein. The dog was one of two bull terriers they were given as a wedding gift.

η ομαδα των τεριε διαγωνιζεται αυριο Τριτη, με κριτες για τα bulls τον Michael Shoreman και για τα mini bulls τη Rosemary Shoreman. και οι δυο ειναι πρωτοεμφανιζομενοι στην διοργανωση.
