About 10 days ago we finally obtained from FCI, something that the members of the Hunting Commission of the Club Del Dogo Argentino Antonio Nores Martinez (Mother breed club) have been pushing through FCA (Mother federation) authorities: FCI has put the Dogo Argentino as -still- Working Class (Group 2) but with WORKING TEST. This means that in all specialized shows there will be a special category for those dogs that have passed a working test which in Argentina will consist of a hunt, except San Luis province where it could be either a hunt or a pen test. This dogos will compete among themselves in the show, and no dogo who has not been given the thumbs-up as a working animal can share that category. In other countries this working test will be designed within the laws and particularities of each place.
From there on, we will start working to demand that any dog that wins a show championship has to pass the working test to be given the "apto de cria" (permission to be bred).
