Vegetables for dogs with cancer
Good choices: zucchini, yellow crookneck squash, pattypan squash, dark leafy greens, broccoli, cabbage, brussels sprouts, cauliflower, bok choy
Avoid: potatoes, yams, carrots, green peas, sweet potatoes, hard rind squashes like winter squash, all grains
Protein
Dogs with cancer need quality animal proteins and a variety of them.
Fats
Dogs with cancer need a lot of quality fats, so offer fatty foods such as lamb, eggs, whole-milk yougurt. When you feed poultry, leave the skin on, and use the dark meat whenever possible as it is highest in fat content.
Sample raw diet
Morning meal
Feed a variety of high fat protein sources, alternating between or mixing together any of the following:
Muscle meat: especially high fat varieties like ground beef, lamb or goat
Canned fish: mackerel, salmon, or sardines (packed in water, not oil) are good options (stay clear of tuna)
Eggs
Dairy: whole milk yogurt or cottage cheese
Organ meats: including liver and kidney in small amounts
Vegetables: offer a variety of the recommended vegetables
Evening meal
Feed a variety of raw meaty bones such as: chicken necks, wings, backs and frames; turkey necks; beef necks and ribs; lamb ribs
Sample cooked diets

12 ounces ground beef
4 ounces beef liver and kidney, cooked in small amount of butter
1 egg, scrambled or soft boiled
4 ounces steamed or cooked broccoli
2 ounces whole-milk yogurt
Mix the meat, liver and kidney, egg, and broccoli well. Cool. Stir in the yogurt and serve.

12 ounces ground chicken
4 ounces chicken liver, cooked with a small amount of butter
1 egg scrambled or soft boiled
4 ounces cooked cabbage
2 ounces cottage cheese
Mix the meat, egg, and cabbage well. When cool, stir in the cottage cheese and serve.
